Makeup I bought when I didn’t have a budget

So, let’s just say 98% of the time I’m on a tight budget. And 98% of the time, I’ll purchase things like a normal human being. But, in an effort to remember my physical needs on earth, I gave myself a brief respite from the constant quest to pay off my student loans.

In that respite, I may have.. gone.. overboard. But hey, a break is a break! (I think this is almost a Friends reference? I’m trying to appeal to my fellow millennial but I’ve also seen about 2.5 episodes of the show.)

Also, side note, this doesn’t include any face care, replacements or supplies. Because, honestly? I don’t want to look at everything in a list together and deal with my life choices.

Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder + Velour Puff
Why?— Beauty Gurus use translucent powders on every step and I fancy myself a beauty guru now. Yes, I’ve made that decision about myself.

Worth it?— I have no idea what I’m doing yet. I’ve used the same powder since college and don’t know how to function otherwise. (MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus)

Kat Von D 24-Hour Super Brow Long-Wear Pomade in Walnut
Why?— After years and years, my Anastasia brow pomade finally dried out. So, I took that as a sign from the universe telling me to try it out.

Worth it?— I love it so much. It’s a great color match for me, and much more intense than the ABH one— and “much more intense” is what I aspire to in a makeup look.

Urban Decay Perversion Mascara
Why?— Everyone reviews the Urban Decay mascara I like poorly and this one highly, so I thought it must be better than the one I was using.

Worth it?— I mean, no. I liked the one I was using lol. (Troublemaker, if you were curious)

Sugarpill Ghosted Loose Eyeshadow
Why?— It was in store (Riley Rose!) and I’ve wanted Lumi for years, so Ghosted was the second best. (Lumi is a blue based iridescent, Ghosted is a pink based iridescent.)

Worth it?— Hell yeah, it’s spicy.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette
Why?— I’ve wanted it since it came out. That’s the major reason. I just never bought it because I was so bored with all the IG makeup trends– and this was the trendiest palette of all time.

Worth it?— I’m glad I have it, but I still prefer my In Bloom palette from Tarte as a neutral go-to.

Physicians Formula Murumuru Butter Bronzer
Why?— MannyMUA told me to buy it. Also, I’ve used the same powder for bronzing/contour the entire time I’ve worn any sort of contour and the shade isn’t made the same now— so.. I need.. to move on….

Worth it?— I like to use it to buff out the contour from my Fenty Stix, but on it’s own it’s not EXTREME enough on my skin tone. (Again, “much more intense” is my taste in makeup– and in life.)

Fenty Beauty Match Stix Shimmer Skinstick in Confetti
Why?— I really wanted an unnatural purple colored highlighter and I wanted to try Fenty. Seemed like a no brainer!

Worth it?— 1000% I love this bitch. If you want one alien-toned highlighter in your collection I’d defo recommend.

Fenty Beauty Match Stix Trio in Light
Why?— I bought this after the highlighter. I really want new contour products and wanted to give Rhianna more money so she can do the lord’s work with it.

Worth it?— Personally, yeah. However, I definitely think it’s a follow your gut thing. If you don’t think cream sick contour/foundation is for you, then idk if you would be sold by it. But, I’m living for it!

MAC Prep + Prime Fix+
Why?— I was out of UD All Nighter spray and beauty vloggers told me to.

Worth it?— I think so! It’s always hard to tell with products like this. It normally takes some testing and comparison to figure out HOW necessary it is for my makeup routine/look.  I enjoy the scent and the packaging. Plus, it’s super versatile for what it can be use for– which All Nighter isn’t. (However, I’ll always have All Nighter because it is a necessity for long days.)

TokyoMilk Bulletproof Perfume
Why?— I love TokyoMilk perfume as it’s affordable, unique and has good staying power with my skin. Plus, I love buying perfumes to mark points in my life.

Worth it?— Yeah binch, but get Tainted Love if you want to try TokyoMilk perfumes for the first time.

No links because I haven’t set up any sort of affiliate program and I don’t want to do extra work if I’m not getting paid for it. I’m sure you understand.

Also, I’m a little nervous that I missed something, which.. is .. worrisome.
